Homelite Consumer Products, Inc. warrants its outdoor tools and equipment with the following conditions:
What This Warranty Covers
This warranty covers all defects in workmanship or materials in your Homelite outdoor tools and equipment for a period of one year from the date of purchase.
How To Get Service
Just return the outdoor tool or equipment, properly packaged and postage prepaid to a Homelite Authorized Service Center. You can obtain the location of the Service Center nearest to you by contacting a customer service representative at (800)525-2579 or on-line through our Service Center locater at www.Homelitetools.com. When you request warranty service, you must also present proof of purchase documentation (sales receipt/bill of sale). We will repair any faulty workmanship, and either repair or replace any defective part at our option. Work will be performed without charge to your. We will complete the work in a reasonable time, but in any case, within ninety days.
What Is Not Covered
This warranty applies only to the original purchaser at retail and may not be transferred. This warranty only covers defects arising under normal usage and does not cover any malfunctions, failure, or defects resulting from misuse, abuse, neglect, alteration, modification or repairs by other than Homelite Authorized Service Centers. Homelite makes not warranties, representations or promises as to the quality or performance of its outdoor tools and equipment other than those specifically stated in this warranty.
Additional Limitations
Any implied warranty granted under state law, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose are limited to one year from the date of purchase. Homelite is not responsible for direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts and/or do not allow the exclusion of limitation of incidental damages, so the above limitations are exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

Pretty much the same comments as others. Worked right out-of-the-box so to speak. But that's not saying much 'cause the box was trashed when I received it. It wasn't a UPS problem either... my UPS guy stayed while I finished unpacking it (reaching my hand through the hole in the box & pulling the saw out!) to see if I wanted to accept it. There was no attempt to pad or protect the product other than the flimsy outer container. The saw was basically placed in a 12"X12"X7' pieced together box with a little packing tape attempting to hold them together.
To the saw & use... it is heavy with extended use, but compared to a manual pole saw it is a zillion times faster so you aren't "extended" as long!! My saw did not come with any manual or instructions. I know about chain oil so that part was a no-brainer but changing the blade will be a winger. The saw worked very well with the soft wood palo verde trees here in the SW. Haven't had a chance to try on the denser mesquite wood. There are two approx. 1 foot entensions at the back(handle) and one before the saw head. I used both and they "worked" and did not make the saw any more difficult or easier to use they just allowed you to reach higher branches. I'll report back with any down-sides...

have a lot of trees on my one acre homesite, it can handle it all. cuts very quick even through 6" to 8" limbs. i have bought several reconditioned tool from cpo, alway glad i did.

This is a very effective, well made, and well-designed tool. It makes tree trimming much easier and quicker. However, the chain saw apparatus is a bit heavy, making the tool rather end-weighted; as a result, to control the tool for effective cuts requires cutting at fairly vertical positions, i.e. almost under the target branches. Naturally this places the operator close to the fall zone of the cut material, a potential safety issue.
