If you remove the spark plug and spray starter fluid into the chamber for about seven seconds the unit will start when cold, otherwise it won't start cold. Unit restarts well from a warm start.

The price was right[$][...] No owners manual but easily obtained free from manufacturer thru regular mail or they will email you a pdf for download, I chose both, got it with no problem.It will trim your with hedges as advertised and nice to not have an electric cord to lug around.Not an easy starter but I think I figured it out. You must press prime bulb at least 12 times, about 4 times more than any other 2 cycle I own, then choke engine before it starts up. It is not light and you will get a workout using it, requires 2 hands for sure. Best to use on lower hedges where a ladder is not required. I would recommend to a friend with above warnings of weight concerns and starting method. I'll still keep my cordless Black and Decker for quick jobs.

The product works good however I encountered one major problem. The gas cap or tank has a defect and the gas leaks greatly. I will be returning for another one if possible. It is also heavier than it looks but overall it is good for the price and it performs up to my satisfactory.
