Homelite use to have one of the best trimmers on the market.Now the new models are not worth caring home.Bought one of them ,used it one time and returned it .Have bought Homelite trimmers for over 25 years and was so pleased with them.Now I have to try to find another brand comparable to the old Homelite.

Product is easy to understand for the avg home owner. Power is just fine for normal use. I found that if I were to puchase this product again I would get the straight pole rather than the curved. I am only 5'8" and the curve becomes too short when using it other than just edging so, you have to lean over which may cause low back stain with prolonged use. Also, the motor is positioned close to the throttle (trigger) and causes one to have to hold the unit in an uncomfortable possition in order to stay away from a hot engine.

String replacement is straight forward, just make certain you wind in the correct direction. (normally this will only be a one time mistake) Oil & gas mix is easy. Starting is nomaly easy. Extended use (over 1hr cont. Use) the motor will get hot and need a break to cool (4-5min) before running again. Usually string will need replacement during this period as well.

Other than those issues and the ever popular string nut tightener "cover" comming off after bumping it to increase line length, it is a good little machine.

I HAD THE SAME MODEL THAT I PURCHED NEW AND IT WAS HARD TO START AND DID NOT RUN GOOD AT ALL. DID NOT WANT TO GET SAME ONE BUT GAVE IT A TRY AFTER A FREIND SAID CPO WAS GREAT. THEY WERE RIGHT STARTS RIGHT UP AND RUNS GREAT FOR LESS THAN HALF THE COST. THANKS, TOM

it has power,but it does not seem to have a clutch for the trimmer head so if it gets tied up in weeds it stalls right out.This can make it difficult to start if the line is to long.It gets tangled up and stalls out.

This trimmer uses synthetic oil to mix with the gas and has a converter muffler, so this cuts down on the smell and smoke that most 2 cycle engine produce. Started right up and 5 minute assembly.

I only use it around my house in a subdivision, not a large amount of grass. The shaft angle is difficult to manuever. You have to be in an awkward position to use it. However, for what I use it for, it is just what I needed for the price.

I have had sholder sergeries and the weight of this machine is iportant to me. But your older models had the throtel down lower on the handel which made it eazier to use. I use this machine to do my yard and fence line of my fields and it is easy to get in around the barb ire and the flowers in the yard.

The trimmer was very difficult to start. It took many attempts, unlike the instructions. Once it finally started and we switched it to "run" and would begin using it, it would die. This happened over and over and with several users. I called customer service who said it was probably a carburetor issue and to take it to a service facility. That is where it is now, after over 2 weeks. [...] what good did it do when we had to take it in and it will take about 3 weeks for them to look at it. Other than trying to get it running, we haven't been able to experience the trimmer and whether it trims well or not. We are extremely disappointed in it thus far. [...]

This is a good little Grass Trimmer, Works great on you normal height timming of grass and medium thickness weeds.

The only Problem I seen in my Trimmer is, the Line breaks way to easy. It has plenty of power so, I would get an after market trimmer head with heavier cord or get a bladed trimmer head.

First off, I didn't use this product for it's intended use, I put the engine in my model boat and it runs great!!! It has been really easy to start, hasn't quite ever, and is really reliable.

Great value at about [$] Fired up after 3 pulls after priming, runs like a champ! i gave it a five star rating using the price as a consideration!!! Don't expect this to be equal to a $200 trimmer. If you want a brush cutter or need to cut large diameter weeds spend the xtra bucks but for grass and small weed trimming this value cannot be beat!!!!!!!!!!!

This trimmer is difficult to start, you have to pull the string 22-30 times to get it started, and pump the gas 15-20 times too, man its a lot of work before you really start cutting the lawn :o(
