This Is A Great Little Weed Eater!! Key Word Little Guys This Is Not A 40CC Weed Eater It Is A 26 CC Weed eater. I Bought this for my wife to use to help me around the yard and I like it better than my big weed eater its Light enough for anyone to use and powerful enough to get the job done! Just remember its not built to cut Two foot grass and weeds Though it probably will. Its like you would not buy a mid size truck to do a full size trucks job. It might do it for a while But eventually you'll break it.

For the record, and not to malign any of the other major manufactures - In 2009 I started with the blue and white home improvement and their versa tool product. It would not run - period. I went to the red one and purchased a Homelite. I used this hard over an entire season and it has over 100 hours on the power head. It is shot, due to ring wear and subsequent compression loss. This year I went back to the red and found that Homelite no longer offered the versa version. Consequently, I went upscale. Not much advantage as that version ran - but would not continue to run. I love things that die every two minutes! It went back. I purchased a refurb on this site. [...] Pump bulb as specified and it runs. Price is right.Can anyone ask for more?

This is a great machine. It stalls on its side when edging. I think its because the fuel pick up is on the opposite side. Very powerfull and it cuts grass like butter. Definetly would purchase another.

Fueled it up followed instructions pressed the priming bulb 7 times pulled the cord twice with full throttle and full choke released throttle put choke at half and one more pull and it started running great let it run a few min placed choke knob at run position.

Was using an electric string trimmer what a difference in power and ease of use no more dragging around a 100ft extension cord.

Hand grip pooly insulated ez to get burnt, Line feed must to handled with kid gloves , very poor design.Suggest replaceing with after market head. Its not a real bad unit, but you need to take extra care and clean each time you use it. Unlike other brands Ive owned. I did fine tune it when igot it new and haven t had the starting issues alot here speak of. I would not recommend this to a weekender. Only those that can tinker and change a few parts(ie line head,carb settings)

Trimmer appeared ever-so-slightly used out of the box, but started and worked as I would expect a brand new item. (I ordered a recon circular saw from CPO previously and it looked brand new)

My personal preference would be to have an index finger throttle control. Bump feed didn't seem to work the first time I used it, so I'll troubleshoot. Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase.

I HAVE OWNED (3) HOMELITE TRIMMERS THE FIRST TRIMMER WORKED TROUBLE FREE FOR 12 YEARS SO WHEN IT WAS TIME FOR A NEW ONE NATURALLY I THOUGHT OF HOMELITE. BIG MISTAKE. TOOK THE SECOND ONE BACK AFTER THE THIRD USE AND THE THIRD ONE IS SITTING IN THE BACK OF THE SHED AFTER FOUR OR FIVE USES. THE PRICE MAY BE TEMPTING BUT DON'T DO IT!

Worked great the first time.But now it will not stay running unless fully choked.

Works as expected. I can always count on the way a Homelite gas machine starts and runs. That's the very reason that I have no qualms about buying Homelite, new or reconditioned, they all perform well and usually start on the second or third pull after priming.
